Carpenter Wins Third Championship in Five Years

Brad Carpenter won his second straight championship, and his third total in 2022. Carpenter's 10-4 Regular Season record was enough to get him to the championship. His Mission Hills Mennonites team defeated Corey Kluesner's To The Mooney in the league championship.

Carpenter's 2022 season was the highest score differential (+251) amongst all winning seasons (four non-winning seasons with higher differentials).

Season 5 Punishment Weekend in the books

11 of the 12 league members were able to meet in Kansas City for the annual Punishment Weekend. Members voted to keep Brad Carpenter in the Commissioner's Office, reviewed the 2022 season, celebrated Brian Trigg's diaper party, and enjoyed watching the Losers participate in the punishment.

Huntin' For A W (4-10)

Keegan Gilligan - Disgrace of a Football Team (4-10) - was the league's first loser of 2022, going 4-10 in the Regular Season. Gilligan's team suffered from poor management, scoring the lowest percentage of actual possible points amongst all other league members with just 83.89% management efficiency.

Danny Widrig - Huntin' For a W (4-10) - showed promise throughout the Regular Season, however he would go on to score the lowest point total of the season at just 1,348.36 points, the lowest regular season point total in league history. Widrig started the season strong at 4-2 - including a 57-point victory over Carpenter's eventual championship team - but wouldn't win another game after Week 6.

The Punishment
Beer Mile

This was the league's first year at a two-loser format, where both the Regular Season and Losers Bracket would produce a loser.

What: The Beer Mile

Where: Kansas City, MO (a gravel track at an abandoned school, W 66th Terrace & Wornall Rd, Brookside, MO).

When: June 3, 2023

Who: Keegan Gilligan and Danny Widrig

The Beer Mile was designed to be a fun activity for the whole group while still being an embarrassing and physically challenging punishment for the Losers. It was also a relatively short punishment, which allowed the losers to enjoy more of the weekend with the rest of the group. An added detail forced the two Losers to wear Carebear costumes and finish within 30 minutes.

The Loser who first finishes four 12oz beers and four laps on a track earns the right to swap their draft pick with any other member during the 2023 Season draft.

Danny Widrig was the winner of the 2022 Punishment, finishing four beers and four laps on the track with a time of 14:02.

Keegan Gilligan finished the punishment in 29 minutes 2 seconds.
